'Midgetronic' c. 1949. Rare midget set made by Etronic radio (midget Etronic-get it?) and now a desirable radio, although why is a mystery to me. It does have a sort of charming appeal and is small, and because they were so badly made are now rare. The sprayed finish bakelite cabinet is flimsy, gets too hot and cracks, the back burns through, the knobs fall off, the dial pointer breaks, etc. However, this one is the exception, and is quite simply the best one I have ever seen. It has a few scratches on the cream finish which could be touched in but I prefer it original, and all the knobs etc are present and correct. There are no cracks in the cabinet and the back is perfect- it must have only had a few hours of use to be so good. It is fully overhauled and working. These sets are rare even in poor condition, and this one is exceptional.
